About the role
As a Sr. Learning Experience Designer, your goal is to create world-class learning experiences that empower our members to grow their business by maximizing their use of HoneyBook. Reporting to the Manager, Scaled Education you’ll work cross-functionally with Marketing, Customer Success, Support, Help Center, and Product to create and update engaging educational content for customers and prospects: e-learning (SCORM) courses, video tutorials, and live virtual classes. You'll be creating a combination of HoneyBook product education content and business content that helps independent business owners grow their businesses. Your work will include sourcing and working with subject matter experts to create net new content to support the launch of new product features and go to market campaigns, updating existing content to incorporate new functionality, and teaching highly interactive live virtual classes to our customers and prospects.
You’ll be a great match for this role if you have strong experience building engaging learning experiences in multiple modalities, find joy in solving problems and empowering others to do their best work, are a lifelong learner and mad scientist at heart, and are truly passionate about building the kind of education everyone else wants to copy.
We operate on a hybrid schedule requiring in-office presence in our San Francisco office 2-3 days a week (the current expectation is that employees are in-office Wednesday & Thursday).
Here are a few of the things you will do:
- Develop interactive and engaging SCORM-based e-learning courses using Evolve Authoring.
- Create compelling short-form videos that educate and inspire learners to adopt features and change the way they work.
- Facilitate live virtual classes that are both engaging and interactive with the audience.
- Assess and report on the effectiveness of the education content you create to improve the content and show impact.
- Work cross functionally to determine the best learning solution to drive impact.
Here is what we’re looking for in a candidate:
- A dedicated generalist who goes out of their way to learn new skills and who loves to have their hands in lots of different types of projects.
- An innovative learning experience designer that's passionate about breaking the mold on education: you are constantly looking to try new things just for the sake of trying them.
- A strong virtual learning facilitator, that can interact with the audience and adapt the content in real time; not a lecturer.
- The ability to quickly shift between project management and on-the-ground content creation.
- A strong sense of what it takes to enable non-technical learners on software and business processes.
- A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and who is equally comfortable with gathering feedback and making instructional design decisions.
- A lover of cross-functional work who proactively looks to solve problems.
Here is what is needed:
- 5 years' experience developing SCORM-based e-learning courses.
- 5 years' experience facilitating engaging and interactive live virtual classes.
- 3+ years' experience creating compelling educational videos and product walkthroughs.
- Experience creating business education for independent businesses; bonus points if you’re created education for independent business owners, marketing service providers in particular.
- Familiarity with instructional design and adult learning principles.
- Familiarity with LMS administration and reporting, ideally with the Intellum platform.
Bonus points if you:
- Have a background in marketing.
- Are familiar with education programs aimed at improving user adoption.
- Have experience as an independent business owner, especially a marketing service provider.
- Have animation experience.
- Love to improvise.
