HoneyBook is trusted by over 100,000 businesses in the United States and Canada that have booked more than $12 billion in business on the platform.

At HoneyBook, we encourage collaboration, feedback, ownership, and have a growth mindset. We’re a diverse mix of entrepreneurially-minded individuals, inspired by the businesses we serve.

We know experience comes in many different forms, some visible on your resume, others not. No candidate will perfectly match this description. So if you thrive in a fast-paced, intellectually-charged environment and have similar experience, we encourage you to apply.

This role is hybrid to our SF office, 2-3 days per week (current expectation is Wednesdays and Thursdays in-office).

The role:

We’re looking for a Copywriter to craft and refine the voice of the HoneyBook brand. Your words will build connections with our audience. Your ideas will shape the culture of the freelance and independent economy. Your work will inform, inspire, entertain—and even impress your parents.

The ideal candidate is a strategic force, connecting creative with HoneyBook’s 2025 business objectives. They are a skilled wordsmith and grammar sleuth. They are passionate and collaborative. They can quickly discern project needs autonomously, prioritize their time, and present ideas with poise and precision. They love building a brand and understand the nuances of writing for multiple channels.

Like our members, we’re obsessed with our craft and all the details that go into creating an exceptional experience. We’re looking for someone who is motivated to grow, comfortable with responsibility, and eager to build a world-class brand.

This role is hybrid to our SF office, 2-3 days per week (current expectation is Wednesdays and Thursdays in-office).

What you’ll do:

  • Develop strategic creative and copy for multi-channel campaigns that include ads, video, web, email, and social.
  • Partner regularly with cross-functional teams at HoneyBook—from our in-house Research team, Product Marketing, Creative, and others.
  • Contribute to the development, growth, and refinement of our brand and ensure it’s implemented consistently.
  • Proofread and edit marketing copy with a keen eye for consistency and formatting.
  • Keep up with industry best practices and emerging strategies, constantly pushing for fresh and innovative ideas.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of our products and target audience.

Who you are:

  • You have 3+ years of copywriting experience (or equivalent).
  • You have a strong portfolio that showcases your ability to ideate and write for various channels and mediums.
  • You have a passion for storytelling and conceptual thinking.
  • You have a discerning sense for compelling copy and know how to optimize it for performance.
  • You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • You have an eye for detail and can spot a typo from a mile away.
  • You’re a surgical editor who could easily make this job description shorter.
  • You have sharp and persuasive presentation skills that set your projects up for success.
  • You thoughtfully acknowledge, address, and implement stakeholder feedback.
  • You can use data to inform our messaging (even though you do words, not numbers).
  • You’re able to clearly express complex ideas to both technical and non-technical readers.
  • You cringe at cliches and consistently deliver clear and concise copy that sounds human.
  • You possess a strong sense of curiosity and grit, can work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Proficiency with design software such as Figma and Photoshop is a plus.
  • Experience or exposure to UX copywriting is a plus.
  • Experience writing for a small business or entrepreneurial audience is also a plus.

  • Mission-driven: You'll be joining more than just another startup—our members are at the heart of everything we do.
  • Impact: We move quickly and encourage every employee to push the envelope. Our best ideas come from out-of-the-box thinking and innovation; be ready to fail fast and often.
